Drama Performance of English Department Andalas University

Padang (8/12) – Drama is a genre or type of literary works that describing human life with motion. Drama describes the reality of life, character, and human behaviour through roles and dialogues that are staged. Drama which is one of the compulsory subjects for literary students especially English literature students. English Department students of Andalas University always held drama performances every year, which appearance will be played by the fifth semester students.

In this occasion, me and Rian Habill Hamdani as my partner, Interviewed one of the students that involved in the drama performance for this year. In this year, the drama was took place at Nan Jombang Company, and it was hold in two days, from seventh to eighth December.

David as our interviewee is one of the participants of drama in this year. David is a member of the family 2.0 group. His role on his drama is as a father. The reason David and his friends chose Family 2.0 as the theme of their drama is because Family 2.0 has a comedy drama element that can entertain the audience. Family 2.0 consists of 2 actors and 3 actresses. Drama of this year is little different from the previous drama, drama in the year has a different system, which this year the participants are allowed to choose members and form their respective groups.

The time for training that needed by the drama participants is around 4 months. David said that they practice very hard and seriously to get maximum results, and he feels relieved to have performed and given the best in this annual event. David also said “Event though we are not nominated but we feel reluctant because we have tried our best for drama this year”.

Kyoto Modern Iconic Landmark - Kyoto Tower

Kyoto Tower at night. Source: me Almost every city in this world has a landmark as the icon of their city. Jakarta with  Monumen Nasional (Monas), Paris with the Eiffel Tower, and New York with the Liberty Statue. In Kyoto, they also has a unique landmark of their city, the name is Kyoto Tower. On September 2016, me and my family got a chance to visit this city. After we had a dinner with a bowl of Ramen, we went to this building. Kyoto Tower is located just across Kyoto Station, so that's mean this building is located in the heart of this city.
