Have you ever seen a journalist doing an interview? Do you know how to do a good interview? This post will help you to do that, because I’m  gonna talk about Several Ways to Interview Someone Like a Journalist.

Before we get in to the main menu, I’m gonna explain what is interview just in brief. Basically, an interview means a private meeting between people when questions are asked and answered. The main purpose to do an interview is to support your argument by gaining some information from other perspectives.

There are many ways that you can do to do an interview. Some ways are effective, but not with the other. I’m going to give you some ways that at least you need to pay an attention when doing an interview:

1. Be sure you are ready

Always prepare on what are your purpose to do an interview, who is your interviewee (the people that you are going to ask), what you are going to ask, and the tools that will you use.

2. Make an appointment

Of course to interview someone, we need to talk about the schedule. We can’t just do that spontaneously, because we don’t know if the interviewee have another appointment or not. Introduce yourself and ask about the free

3. Find a good location

When you do a face to face interview, coffee shop maybe the best place to do that. But if there is any way you can interview in a place that has some relevance to the story of your purpose, it will be better.

4. Take a note or use recorder

You can’t record every words that the interviewee said in your memory. That’s why you need a small notes to write the answer. Using a recorder would be better.

5. Endure awkward silences.

Keep asking the questions to keep the interviewee feeling comfortable, but sometimes, especially when you’re dealing with sensitive subjects, you need to shut up and wait.
